Beautiful Bongiorno’s Bridal Brunch

One of my best friend’s Julie just got engaged on Christmas Day, so my long-held wedding planning tendencies are out in full force yet again. I have long harboured a not-so-secret desire to get into the wedding planning business and I can have a habit of trying to take over friend’s weddings. But Julie know’s what I am like, and as she is one of my best friends I can send her as many articles and web site links my heart desires. She is actually appreciative of it as she doesn’t harbour these same tendencies I do!

Anyway, I digress. Julie is one of my old group of girlfriends in Melbourne who I miss dearly. As luck would have it, a few of us have organised to go see George Michael in concert in Sydney February 25 (this will deserve a whole other post), which also happens to be Mardi Gras weekend in Sydney (again, another post needed for that). So with the one day free on the weekend I have decided to throw her an ad hoc Bridal Brunch!

I have already booked into my friend’s restaurant: Bondi Social http://www.bondisocial.com/  which I have been dying to try as is. We will be having a set brunch menu as follows:

Bowls of Bircher Muesli + Fruit Salad will be placed on the table to share

Followed by the choice of one of the following per person

Ricotta Pancakes w/ Fresh Strawberries, Caramelised Banana Ice Cream and Maple Syrup

The Caprese; Poached Eggs w/ Fresh Tomato, Bocconcini, Olives, Rocket and Pesto on Sourdough

Eggs (any style) on Toasted Turkish w/ Bacon + Roasted Tomato

Blushing Bride Cocktail – Champagne & Chambord

I am completely obsessed with Amy Atlas, a well renowned event planner in NYC famous for her dessert bars. Her blog is at: http://www.amyatlas.blogspot.com/ and website http://www.amyatlas.com/

So Amy along with Dabney Lee http://www.dabneyleeathome.com/ and Angels Dreaming http://www.angelsdreaming.com.au are some websites I have drawn inspiration from.

This is a small brunch for only 12 people so I have to remember to reign myself in at times…but sigh, gets me wanting to plan bigger events, that’s for sure!

See below some photos that are inspiring me in my planning as well as as details of a real life party that I wish I had thought of! Would be perfect for Julie as she is completely utterly obsessed with the 80’s.
