On Thursday 3 May, 2012, British luxury brand Jimmy Choo chose Hong Kong as the location for their first dual gender store opening. Jimmy Choo has expanded and renovated its store in the prestigious Hong Kong Elements mall to include both women’s and men’s collections, with the store heralding it’s re-birth with an opening cocktail party.
Jimmy Choo Creative Directors, Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway flew in specially from London for the occasion, as guests sipped on rose champagne and nibbled on gazpacho shots, mini coffee cakes and strawberries dipped in pink marshmallow.
The storefront features side by side entrances for women’s and men’s, each with its own dedicated shopping environment. While on party night, the mall was also used for DJ Antowne, a.k.a Anthony Sandstrom to spin tunes for the crowd, which included local celebrities Louis Koo and Angelababy.
Originally opened as a women’s-only store in 2008, this expansion, now incorporating men’s, represents the fifth store for the company in Hong Kong, complementing existing locations in Landmark, Ocean Centre, Pacific Place and Hong Kong International Airport.
