Zimmermann Pop-Up Store in Soho

While I am on the lookout for a permanent full-time job in marketing/pr here in NYC, I have been lucky enough to been offered a part-time sales assistant role at eponymous Australian luxury swimwear and ready to wear brand Zimmermann.

The brand is launching its first USA store, with a 2 month pop-up store until June 30 in shopping hot-spot Soho.

Being the largest island in the world; water, the ocean and swimming is a way of life in Australia and Zimmermann has capitalized on the need for fashion forward swimwear, with now over 15 stand-alone stores being run in Australia alone.

I think with the summer rush to the Hamptons and severe lack of swimwear options in NYC, this store will be hit! In fact even on first two days of opening I found demand could not keep up with supply and a variety of stock was not available.

Even though Zimmermann products are high-end, therefore, also of high cost, the difference lies in the design and cut. The swimwear is really made to fit and enhance women’s bodies. In addition to that, all the variety of daring prints – a Zimmermann signature- are not sourced fabrics, but actually designed by Nikky and Simone Zimmermann themselves.

My favourites for the season include the “Range” sweetheart neck line, fitted maxi and jumpsuits – especially love the Crimson colour, although have already put down for the plain black silk jumpsuit, as can see this being a very well-worn staple.

I am also obsessed with the sexy, sophisticated  Moody Palm print.

Some of my favourite fashion blogs heralded the opening today:
