Victoria’s Secret first ‘Pink’ NYC premiere store had their grand opening celebration on Saturday 13 March at 10 am on Broadway and Prince, Soho.
As the first 250 customers in line were to receive a free limited edition NYC tank and I live a 15 min walk away, I decided to endure the horrendous weather (non-stop dreary rain and wind that kept blowing umbrella’s inside out) and check it out.
I arrived at 9.30am and the line was already past a few other shops. Those in line quickly received a cute VS Pink dog and postcard that ensured that if you were one of the first 250 you would still receive your tank and no fighting in-store ensued. After a mindless 40 min wait I was led inside to a festive atmosphere – balloons as decorations, DJ on decks playing Top 40, lollipops given out at the door, cupcake van upon exit, plus Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo mingling and the opportunity to shop exclusive NYC themed tees, undies, hoodies and sweats that are only available in the Soho store.
It took another 30 min wait time to actually buy my items, and when I finally got to the counter the line stretched to about four times the size when I had begun my wait.
Just imagine what the chaos would have been like if it had been nice weather!!
